Dear Anxiety

January 22, 2021 · 1 min read

I wish to fall into the night,

but I am afraid of the dark.

A trembling body and a thumping heart,

as though blood were rushing out of me.

I wish I could tell you

how much it aches

to swim against the current of my thoughts.

I wish I was not.

I really wish to embrace you,

but I fear you’ll stay forever.
